Hello! My name is Amanda Winters RN, HCHI. I am so thrilled to be a part of Hypnobabies - and be lucky enough to bring this course to the Hudson Valley. I absolutely am in love with this program!
My love of Hypnobabies started with the birthing journey of my second son. I wanted a birthing technique that was naturally based, eliminated pain, and gave me tools to use in case I DID feel pain. After just a little researching I found the perfect thing - HYPNOBABIES. There were no instructors in the Hudson Valley who offered the course at the time so I ordered the home study course. I practiced my hypnosis cues and techniques everyday as my pregnancy blossomed. My birth was AMAZING and I knew I wanted to make sure that I could share this gift with the birthing women of the Hudson Valley. I became a Hypnobabies instructor because I fully believe in this method. I've witnessed other births with Hypnobabies and am in awe every time of the peace and love in the room, the connection between mom and birth partner, and the effectiveness Hypnobabies has on eliminating pain.

Now that you know where my heart is - let's talk about my head (aka credentials)! My career started in the medical field directly out of High School. I was a combat medic and then a Licensed Practical Nurse in the army. While serving time in the Army Reserves I used my GI bill to attend college to become a registered nurse. After completing my RN certification I worked for 5 years as an ICU nurse. After giving birth to my 2 sons I knew that I needed to work with birthing women. In March of 2008 I transferred from the ICU to Labor and Delivery at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. I am still working as a labor nurse, as well as teaching Hypnobabies. I love what I do, and do what I love. I'm so happy you've taken the time to read my bio and hope that you choose to have an amazing birth experience with Hypnobabies!
